BioCHARACTER: Wanijima Kaito
SERIES: Air Gear
AGE: 27
DIVISION: Reaper.
BACKGROUND:
Kaito is the leader of the Windstorm G-Men, a special SWAT team created specifically for the purpose of hunting down and arresting Storm Ride teams for abusing Air Trecks (or ATs, for short). There are 5 main members in the team, with Akito, Kaito's brother, being the youngest member. Everybody in the G-Men are able to use ATs, as it would have been difficult to capture AT users without the additional speed. Although they are only a small division in the police force, Kaito seems to be able to command armies at his disposal, often bringing army tanks and helicopters into a raid.
Kaito is also known as Shinjuku's Crocodile, after the number and frequency of the arrests he had made in Shinjuku before transferring into Higa. The transfer would seem to most as a demotion, having to move from Tokyo to a less populated area, however, the author had mentioned in his notes that Kaito himself had requested for the transfer due to the high density of AT users in Higa.
For the sake of this RP, let's just believe that Kaito's chain-smoking habits had finally caught up with him. His last visit to the doctor (an annual health check-up required of all police officers, something which Kaito had happily missed in all the previous years and only reluctantly attends this time because his job was threatened) had revealed that not only was he severely underweight (old news), he has also contracted lung cancer in its terminal stage. True to his personality though, Kaito merely flipped the good doctor off, claimed himself as being immortal, and lit another cigarette on his way out. Needless to say, he died soon after.
PERSONALITY: Kaito survives on beer, instant noodles and cigarettes, and is not afraid of letting his opinion be heard in the most vulgar way he could express them in (if anybody has any doubt about where Agito learned to swear like he did, they should really meet Kaito. He invented swearing.) Kaito is relentless in his capture of AT users, given his hatred for them and the number of his subordinates who had died in their missions against them. Manipulative, sadistic, and vulgar, Kaito mistreats his younger brother when he realized that the boy has a natural talent for ATs and would be able to aid him in his arrests (or what seems more like 'exterminations'.)
However, despite all his character flaws, Kaito strangely has the loyalty of his subordinates who seemed to understand him well enough to know that his mistreatment of Akito (namely, whipping him, putting him in a cage, threatening to put a bullet through his tongue etc) is simply his clumsy way of showing brotherly affection. Kaito himself is in denial of any emotions towards the boy, writing off any displays of brotherly love as an attempt at better manipulating the boy. However, there is no doubt that Kaito is extremely protective of his brother (firing at Ikki for showing his penis to Agito) and that he still kept the photos of Akito pinned up on the wall of his trailer van (together with a dart board of Ikki's face, whom he probably believed to be the 'perverted bastard' who stole his brother away from him.)
